Baguazhang (one of the major internal a.k.a. Nèijiā Chinese martial arts)

Jan 25 2012 - 6:00 PM-8:00 PM

Baguazhang (or Pa Kua Chang) is an ancient Chinese martial art and health system. It belongs to the same family of internal health exercises as Taijiquan and Xingyiquan. Its whirling forms and twisting movements are based on the famous I-Ching, or “Book of Changes”. As well as being an effective martial system, the movements of Baguazhang open the joints and create strength within flexibility in the human body. As such, the art can be practiced as a form of rehabilitation for a variety of physical ailments. The class, as taught at Caritas, is designed to cater to both those interested in the martial art and those seeking better physical health. Cost: $10 per class (2 hrs.)
